Privacy Policy

Idyll is made by Taitz, LLC ("we," "us"). Idyll helps a family member (the "caregiver") set up and look after a parent or loved one (the "senior") through a tablet app and a companion phone app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
In plain terms: we collect only what we need to run Idyll, we never sell your information or show ads, and you can delete your account and data at any time.
1. Who this policy covers
It covers the caregiver who creates an account, and the senior whose care the caregiver manages. The caregiver provides and controls the senior's information; the senior does not create or manage an account themselves.
By setting up a senior in Idyll, the caregiver confirms they have the authority and the senior's permission to manage that person's information.
2. Information we collect
Account information: the caregiver's name and phone number or email address, used to sign in.
Information you add about the senior: their name; approved callers (names, relationships, optional photos); reminders; assistant and safety settings; and photos or DRM-free audiobooks you upload for them.
Assistant conversations and check-ins: when the senior talks with the AI assistant, the text of that conversation is processed to power the reply, and a short written "check-in" summary is created for the caregiver (which may note things like mood or whether the senior mentioned taking medication you have set up as reminders).
Messages: notes sent between the caregiver and the senior's tablet.
Calls: video and audio are transmitted in real time to connect a call. We do not record calls.
Usage and activity: a feed of what happened on the tablet (e.g., "listened to a book"), plus basic technical/diagnostic data needed to operate the apps.
Device permissions: with your permission, the apps use the camera and microphone for calls and voice, and the photo library to let a caregiver choose photos to send.
3. How we use information
To provide Idyll: show the senior their day, connect calls, power the AI assistant, generate check-ins for the caregiver, deliver reminders and photos, and keep settings in sync between the two apps.
To keep the service secure and working, to support you, and to comply with the law.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
4. The AI assistant
Idyll's assistant is an artificial-intelligence helper, not a person and not a medical, mental-health, or emergency service. To produce its responses and the check-in summaries, the text of the conversation is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing.
The assistant is for companionship and connection. It does not provide medical advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US).
5. Service providers we share with
We use a small number of trusted companies to run Idyll, and share information with them only to provide the service: Supabase (secure database, sign-in, and file storage); Anthropic (the AI that powers the assistant and check-ins); LiveKit (video/audio calling); Deepgram (turning the assistant's words into speech and the senior's speech into text); and Twilio (sending sign-in codes by text message).
These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not allow them to use your information for their own purposes.
6. We don't sell your data
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers above, and when required by law or to protect safety.
7. How long we keep it, and deletion
We keep information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the caregiver app (Manage → Delete account). Deleting your account permanently removes your account and the data of any senior you solely manage — check-ins, photos, reminders, contacts, messages, books, and settings.
Some records may be retained briefly in backups or where the law requires.
8. How we protect information
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access is restricted by per-household security rules, and provider keys are kept on our server, never in the apps. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
9. Your choices and rights
You can review and edit the senior's information in the caregiver app, and delete your account and data at any time as described above.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us at kevintaitz@hotmail.com.
10. Children
Idyll is intended for adults — caregivers and the older adults they support. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
11. Health-related information
Idyll is a consumer wellbeing and connection product, not a medical device or a healthcare provider, and it does not provide medical advice. Information like medication reminders or mood notes is there to help families stay connected — it is not a medical record. Always rely on a qualified professional for medical decisions.
12. International users
We operate from the United States and may process information in the United States and other countries. By using Idyll you understand your information may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
