Terms of Use

These Terms are an agreement between you and Taitz, LLC for the Idyll apps and service. By creating an account or using Idyll, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Idyll.

1. What Idyll is

Idyll turns a tablet into a simple companion screen for an older adult, set up and managed by a family member from a phone. It includes an AI assistant, video calling, reminders, photos, audiobooks, and wellbeing check-ins.

2. Your account and the senior you manage

You must be 18 or older to create a caregiver account. You're responsible for your account, your sign-in, and the activity under it.

When you set up a senior, you confirm you have the authority and that person's permission to create and manage their Idyll and their information. You are responsible for the information you add about them and for how the tablet is used.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Idyll may be offered as a paid subscription. If you subscribe through the Apple App Store, payment is charged to your Apple ID, and the subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

4. Acceptable use

Use Idyll only for its intended, lawful purpose. Don't misuse the service, interfere with it, or try to access other households' data.

Only upload content you have the right to use. Audiobook upload is for DRM-free files you own (for example, files from DRM-free stores or your own recordings); do not upload copy-protected or pirated content, including files from Audible or library apps.

5. The AI assistant is not professional advice

Idyll's assistant is an AI helper for connection and conversation. It is not a doctor, nurse, therapist, or emergency service, and nothing it says is medical, mental-health, legal, or professional advice. Do not rely on it for any health or safety decision.

In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US). Idyll is not an emergency-response or medical-monitoring system.

6. Calls and connectivity

Calling and the assistant need a working internet connection and depend on third-party networks; we can't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

7. Your content

Photos, notes, audiobooks, and other content you add remain yours. You grant us a limited license to host and display that content solely to operate Idyll for your household. You can delete content, and deleting your account removes it as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Our intellectual property

The Idyll apps, brand, and software are owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use Idyll under these Terms.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and is part of these Terms.

10. Disclaimers

Idyll is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using Idyll and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or others.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Idyll means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts of the state or federal courts located in Georgia, unless your local law requires otherwise.
